Fox Hollow Nature Trail
This hike starts near the Dickey Ridge Visitor Center. The main destinations are two old homesites and an old family cemetary.

To an old homesite through feral orchards.

Compton Peak
This trail has interesting geology (columnar jointings anyone?) on the way to a good overlook.
2 miles round trip. Moderate

Dickey Ridge Trail
Pleasant streamside walk.
2.7 miles round trip to and from concrete marker. Easy. Trail actually continues on after this for another 7 miles, but becomes more difficult. There are many more interesting walks of this length in the park.

Gentle climb to an interesting rock foundation.

North Marshall
To a rocky outcrop with a good view.

Big Devils Stairs
Easy walking and few people make the view from this trail exceptional. Overlook the valley and mountains from the rim of the canyon.

To an overlook.

Overall Run Falls
Rewarding trail to a view of the highest falls in the park, combined with an overlook of the gorge, valley and in the far distance, Massanutten Mountain.
6.4 miles round trip. Moderate.

Traces Nature Trail
An historic trail exploring"traces" of old homesteads. Fascinating story about healing the forest.
1.7 miles round trip

Mile 22.2
Knob Mountain, Jeremys Run and Elkwallow
No views, but interesting ramble through diverse forest environments.
5.8 miles. Moderately difficult.

Mile 28.5
Pass Mountain Summit
To a viewpoint where you can see Kemp Hollow, the town of Luray, and New Market Gap.
1.6 miles round trip
