Guadalupe Mountains National Park was established in 1972 for geologic and scenic values. The park maintains two museums for you to gain an understanding of its significance. The Museum of Natural and Geological Histories is located in the Headquarters Visitor Center. The Cultural History Museum is located in the Frijole Ranch House, 1.5 miles from the Headquarters Visitors Center. Exhibits are also located at the McKittrick Canyon Visitor Center.
