St. Mary and Virginia Falls
An enchanting saunter through the forest to magnificent waterfalls.
Trailhead: On Going-to-the-Sun Road, about .3 mile west of Baring Creek
Distance: 1.8 miles
Level: Easy
Altitude change: Descend 260 feet; Climb 285 feet

Piegan Pass
A varied hike that links St. Mary area with Many Glacier area: wide range of elevations and ecological communities. No campgrounds, so you must be prepared to do it in a day.
Trailhead: Siyeh Bend parking area
Distance: 12.8 miles
Level: Strenuous
Altitude change: Climb 1,670 feet; descend 2,640 feet

St. Mary Lake

Gunsight Pass
Popular trail that crosses the Continental Divide between Lake McDonald and St. Mary valley. In between you'll see gorgeous lakes, forests, glaciers, forests, waterfalls, wildlife. . . you get the idea.
Trailhead: East to west: Jackson Glacier Overlook; West to east: Synder Creek
Distance: 20 miles
Level: Strenuous
Altitude change: Climb and descend 3,787 feet
