OPERATING HOURS, SEASONS
The park is open all year. Ft. Jefferson on Garden Key is open during daylight hours; closed at dark. Day use only on Loggerhead Key. Bush Key is closed to visitors from April to September to protect nesting Sooty and Noddy Terns. Hospital and Long keys are closed all year.

GETTING THERE
Plane: Key West International Airport
Car: Dry Tortugas National Park is not accessible by car.

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
Seaplane and ferry boat service from Key West. Fishing and dive charters from the Florida Keys and Naples.

GETTING AROUND
Upon arrival, see the orientation program at the visitor center in Fort Jefferson and take the self-guiding tour of the fort. A boat is necessary to visit areas of the park other than Garden Key/Fort Jefferson.

VISITOR CENTER
Information, exhibits, an orientation slide show, and publication sales available. The Visitor Center is open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

WEATHER AND CLIMATE
Subtropical climate. Temperatures range from the mid-50s to mid-80s. There are two seasons. Winter storm season (December-March), windy with rough seas Tropical storm season (June-November). April and May are idyllic.
