Main access to the forest can be found heading South from Seattle, Washington on I-5 with access heading East on Hwy. 12 or Mount St. Helens/Spirit Lake Memorial Highway. Heading farther South on I-5 takes you to Vancouver, Washington and then East on Hwy 14 through the Columbia River Gorge.

Coming from the East side of the forest, take I-82 to Hwy 97 and then West on Hwy 14.

Directions to The Gifford Pinchot National Forest Headquarters:

From I-5 to State Route 500:

TRAVELING NORTH ON on I-5, take Exit 2 and follow SR 500 east to Orchards. Continue east for 5 miles and turn right on N.E. 112th Ave. Turn right on N.E. 51st Street to the Forest Headquarters.

TRAVELING SOUTH ON I-5, take Exit 2, the 39th Street/Orchards SR 500 exit. Turn right at the stop sign and follow the Orchards/SR 500 signs. Continue east for 5 miles and turn right on N.E. 112th Ave. Turn right on N.E. 51st to the Forest Headquarters.

From I-205 to State Route 500:

TRAVELING NORTH ON I-205, take Exit 30 to SR 500 east to Orchards. Turn right at N.E. 112th Ave. Turn right on N.E. 51st Street to the Forest Headquarters.

TRAVELING SOUTH ON 1-205, take Exit 30 to SR 500 east to Orchards. Turn right at N.E. 112th Ave. Turn right on N.E. 51st Street to the Forest Headquarters.
