Trail System The Dead horse ATV trail system is located on the Mountain View Ranger District of the Wasatch-Cache National Forest. The ATV trail was developed to meet an increasing public demand for places where ATV recreational use is permitted. The trailhead facility was constructed by the Forest Service in partnership with Exxon Company USA and Meridian Oil Co. on a dry well location. The trail system was constructed by the Forest Service in partnership with the Utah State Off-Highway Vehicle Grant as well as many volunteer groups.Mountain Weather Awareness Beware of mountain storms. The morning can be clear and sunny and by the afternoon violent storms can develop. Also the weather in the mountains fluctuates rapidly; be prepared for any type.
