Photo of skiers by sign for Eagle Cliff TrailsCross country skiers will enjoy over 70 miles of trail, some groomed by local ski clubs. In the higher northern hills, annual snowfall can reach 180 inches. Three trail systems stand out. Eagle Cliff Trails is a self-guided loop system that were originally developed for cross-country skiing. The Big Hills Trails is 16 mile system of five easy to moderate loops and a spur to the rim of Spearfish Canyon. And it's hard to beat the Bear Mountain Trails, 16.1 miles of breathtaking views and much wildlife.

Centennial Trail 111 miles. A landmark trail that stretches across the north-south length of the Black Hills.
George S. Mickelson 114 miles. Rail trail from Deadwood to Edgewood. Gentle grades.
2. Bearlodge Trails 50.3 miles. Home of the annual Fattire Biking Challenge for mountain bikers.
4. Big Hills Trails 16.5 miles. Spearfish Canyon rim country.
6. Eagle Cliff Trails14 miles. Self-guided loop system that were originally developed for cross-country skiing.
8. Deerfield & Lake Loop Trail 28 miles. Gentle trails through scenic canyons.
9. Bear Mountain Trails 16.1 miles. Breathtaking views and lots of wildlife.
