Siskiyou National Forest

The Siskiyou National Forest contains campgrounds located in quiet, scenic areas that provide the visitor an opportunity to get away from the city bustle. Forest campgrounds are available on a first-come, first- served basis, with a 14 day limit on camping for each Ranger District land area during a calendar year. Most of the Forest's campgrounds are closed after Labor Day or operate on a limited basis through October (hunting season). The campgrounds remain closed during the winter months and reopen by Memorial Day weekend for the summer season. The area also has a wide variety of state parks and campgrounds all within a short drive of Grants Pass. Valley of the Rogue State Park is located about 12 miles SE of Grants Pass and is open all year long. Their phone number is (503) 582-1118. To make a reservation at other Oregon State Parks call (503) 238-7488 between the first Monday of March through Labor Day weekend. Also available are campsites in the Josephine County Parks.
