Toiyabe National Forest
Around the Forest
Within the forest, there are eight wildernesses: the Hoover, Carson-Iceberg, Mokelumne, Mount Rose, Arc Dome, Alta Toquima, Table Mountains, and Mount Charleston.
One of the main attractions close to the Toiyabe is Yosemite National Park. This jewel of natural wonders lies directly west of Toiyabe in California. Within the Sierra Nevada Mountain range, the Inyo National Forest is located directly to the southeast. Also to the southeast is California's Death Valley National Park. Eldorado National Forest lies northwest of Toiyabe, a 3 4 hour drive for Bay Area residents who are in search of a respite from urban life. Humboldt National Forest, Nevada's other national forest, is located to the west and northwest of Toiyabe.
