Lafayette Ski Trails

The Lafayette Ski Trails are in the town of Franconia between Route 141 and Route 18. The Notchway Trail, on the old Route 3 road bed, is the main trail. There are three side trails which loop off and return to the Notchway Trail. Notchway Trail (2.1 miles), starts at Route 141. The trail is on an easy grade gaining 441 feet in elevation to the end of the tract on Route 18. The southern 1/2 mile is in Franconia Notch State Park.

Bog Trail (0.1 mile), is an easy loop trail to the east (left) of the main trail just before the bulletin board, following the edge of a small beaver bog.

Scarface Trail (1.2 miles), more difficult, loops from the main trail to the west (right) just past Skookumchuck Brook.

Bickford Trail (0.3 mile), more difficult, leaves the main trail to the east (left).

Access: I-93, Exit 36, east on Route 141, or Franconia Notch Parkway, Exit 1, Route 18. The trail is about 100 yards on the south (right) side of Route 141. It is on the north side of Route 18. A metal sign with the skier symbols marks the trail. Parking is along the south side of Route 141 and in the Echo Lake Parking lot.
