Anglers will be interested to know that biologists recently discovered one of the largest pure strains of cutthroat trout in Montana on the Helena National Forest, in the cold, clear waters of the Little Blackfoot River. Sections of the Missouri River below Hauser Dam are revered by fishermen across the country for the trophy-sized brown trout--many of which weigh in at over fifteen pounds. Brook, rainbow, and bull trout are also plentiful here, as are arctic grayling and whitefish. Several species of trout found in the forest, as well as Whitefish, arctic grayling, and Dolly Varden. Fine cutthroat trout fishing in the Little Blackfoot River, as well as at Park Lake. Kokanee Salmon and trophy brown trout in the Missoula River below Hauser Dam.
