A good information source when you are in the White River National Forest is radio station: AM 1610. The station is accessible when you are near Aspen (5 or 6 miles to either side). The station is a cooperative effort of USFS, Aspen SkiCo, City of Aspen, Town of Snowmass Village and Roaring Fork Transit. In the summer, the station provides information about Maroon Valley access and other forest information. In the winter, the station informs listeners about mass transit, general snow conditions and parking in Aspen and Snowmass.
