Trail Highlights: This bike trail offers a variety of road conditions from primitive to paved county roads. Experience the many forests of the Ouachita Mountains, from pure pine stands to mixed hardwoods. This ride is very level and is a good selection for a family ride.

Other Opportunities: The closest camping is at Cedar Fourche, Irons Fork, and Buckville Recreation Areas run by the Army Corps of Engineers. Enjoy a full range of water sports at beautiful Lake Ouachita. For more hiking opportunities try the Ouachita National Recreation Trail. Observe wildlife in nature by visiting Richardson Bottoms.

Length: Approximately 11 miles with many trail loop opportunities.

Directions: From Hot Springs, take Highway 7 north to Highway 298. Follow Highway 298 about 13 miles to the rifle range signs. Turn left and follow the road to the parking area.

Trail Information: Trail markings are white rectangles and carsonite signs. The route travels on a variety of road types including paved, gravel and unsurfaced.

Site Amenities: There are no developed facilities. Bring your own drinking water.

Difficulty Level: Easy to Difficult.

Safety: Watch for traffic. You will be sharing the road with motor vehicles.

Recommended Seasons: The trail is open year round but is especially pleasant during spring and fall.
