Located in the Kisatchie National Forest in Louisiana.

The Kisatchie Hills is an 8,700-acre area featuring some of the most unusually steep and rugged terrain to be found in Louisiana. In addition to a variety of wildlife, this scenic area features flat-topped mesas, sandstone bluffs and outcroppings, and several distinct forest types. This area is undeveloped and offers no facilities of any kind. No use fees are required.

Directions: From Derry, drive 5.5 miles south on Louisiana 119 to Forest Highway 59, Longleaf Trail Turn right (west) on 59 at this junction. From this point on, the Wilderness will lie to your right (north) until you reach Forest Road 339. Turning right (north) on 339, you can continue to drive adjacent to the Wilderness boundary until you cross over the Forest boundary. The Wilderness can be accessed at any place of your choosing, but only on foot or on horseback.
