Mount Nebo Wilderness

Located in the Uinta National Forest in Utah.

The Mount Nebo Wilderness area is located about 2 1/2 hours outside Salt Lake City. Elevations in the Wilderness range from 5,000 feet to 11,928 feet atop of Mount Nebo, the highest peak in the entire Wasatch Mountain Range. Designated as wilderness in 1984, the 28,170 acre area provides many opportunities for a wilderness experience.

Access to the wilderness area is by the Nebo Scenic Loop Byway. Over 100 miles of maintained trails provide opportunities for hiking, backpacking, horseback riding, and solitude. The Nebo Bench Trail and the Andrews Ridge Trail are two popular trails leading to the summit.
