Cervinia, Italy, is set in alpine scenery that is sure to please any critic. The town is dominated by the Matterhorn, and because the town center is traffic free, it has a very tranquil atmosphere. Though it has an odd mix of architecture, the way the runs are put together far outweighs consideration of the way the buildings are constructed.

Cervinia is home to Italy's highest riding, as well as some of its longest runs. Most of the boarding is in a huge, wide, usually sunny bowl, which makes it an enjoyable place to spend a lengthy holiday. The riding is extensive and the scenery is among the most impressive in Europe.

Due to its height, the snow conditions are excellent. In the summer, it's possible to board on the glacier at Plateau Rosa (3,000 m, or 9,843 ft), which is connected to the resort of Zermatt in Switzerland.

By rail: The nearest station is Chatillion, from where there are regular bus tranfers. By car: Cervinia is 1,001 km (621 mi) trom Calais and 150 km (93 mi) from Milan. Join the MilanoTorino motorway at Samthia and head toward Valle D'Aosta.
