Where to start? Cache la Poudre in Colorado? The Clearwater, Rapid, Salmon, Saint Joe, or Snake in Idaho? The Flathead or Missoula in Montana? The Clarks Fork in Wyoming? Some of these rivers have history (Lewis and Clark floated along a few), white water abounds, and quiet stretches give you a chance to relax and enjoy the scenery. Some are accessible only by trail, others are well developed and convenient to roads and civilization. Whichever river you choose, you're guaranteed a wild ride and a watery view of the Rockies.
