Regional Guide: Yellowstone/Tetons
OVERVIEW
Old Faithful is just the beginning. The magic of this regionprobably America's most famous swath of public landstretches deep into the wilderness of Wyoming's northwestern corner.

Come take a peak: The famed Tetons skyline.
Greater West Images
It's deep in the forest of the parks or the national forests that surround them that you'll find your own section of earth. And anything you discover, from woods to lakes to peaks to wildlife, will be unique. Yellowstone's unusual location atop a"hot-spot" in the earth's surface, creates geysers and hot springs unlike anywhere else.
Head south to Grand Teton and find America's most famous mountain range. Hikers, climbers, and peak baggers swarm here each year to conquer the range, topped by the 13,770-foot Grand Teton. Afraid of heights? No problem. The park also offers cycling, boating, and wildlife viewing.
So put yourself up in the very Western towns of Jackson, Cody, Gardiner, or West Yellowstone, or stay inside the park boundaries, where you'll find lodges and campsites. And no matter which season you come, this amazing place will be waiting.
