Southern Oregon Cascades and the Southern Coast

FAMILY

Winema National Forest's Fourmile Lake makes for great family camping. Perfect for fishing, boating, and swimming, this scenic Alpine lake is equipped with picnic sites, campgrounds, drinking water, and other facilities.

The upper Taylor Creek Trail in Siskiyou National Forest lets beginner and intermediate mountain bikers enjoy 4.3 miles of sweet single-track. Local riders have dubbed this route the"Jedi Trail" for its similarity to the speeder-bike chase through the forest in Return to the Jedi. After a gentle climb, the ride turns into a fun, fast descent; return back to your starting point via 3.5 miles of pavement.

Take your snow bunnies out for pizza—Umpqua National Forest's Pizza Connection trail is an easy, 2.5 miles of groomed snow in the South Diamond Sno-Park. Enjoy amazing views of Diamond Lake and Mount Bailey (8,363 feet).

Revel in spring wildflowers or fall foliage along the Brown Mountain Trail in Rogue River National Forest. This secluded, 7.8-mile trail offers a moderate hike beneath the shade of old-growth forest.

Make a 32-mile cruise up the Rogue River from the Pacific Ocean via jet boat. As you head upriver from the mouth of the wild and scenic Rogue, spot wildlife, take in canyon scenery, and enjoy the ride.
