Lower Ochlocknee River

Southward from Jackson Bluff Dam (Lake Talquin Dam) on SR 20 to Ochlockonee Bay. Also reached off SR 375 to Sopchoppy and SR 67 southward from Telogia. Striped bass fishing is good periodically in the fall and early spring. Live shad are the best bait immediately below the Talquin Dam. Bluegill and shellcracker fishing is excellent in the spring. Best baits are redworms, wigglers and crickets. Bass fishing can be productive in the spring and early summer. Crankbaits and artificial worms should be fished near underwater treetops and logs for best results.
