Lake Okeechobee

This 448,000-acre lake is world famous for outstanding bass, bream, and crappie fishing Boat access is available at Harney Pond Canal, Indian Prairie Canal, Caloosa Lodge Marina, Buckhead Marina and the Moore Haven Marina on US Hwy. 27. Bank fishing is available along the rim canal in Moore Haven and along the Harney Pond and Indian Prairie canals.

Fisheating Creek

This beautiful creek is accessible via a private park, Thousand Acres Campground, that provides canoe launching and rental. About 15 miles of creek are accessible from this point just north of US Hwy. 27 near Palmdale. A public boat ramp located off SR 78 provides access from the creek's mouth to Lake Okeechobee. Bass and bream fishing is good, and wildlife is abundant.
