Laurie and Chris Leman are enthusiastic mountain bikers who first met as bike tour guides in California. Naturally, their first date was a bike ride — a full-moon mountain bike ride on Mt. Tamalpais, in Marin County, California. The two now live in Ketchum, Idaho, where they spend their free time biking and hiking the local trails. Their love of biking resulted in Mountain Bike! Oregon.

Alan Bennett is author, with the Lemans, of Mountain Bike! Washington. Alan rides in and around the Willamette National Forest, near his home in Creswell, Oregon. Heis a past president and treasurer of the Disciples of Dirt/Eugene Off-Road Cyclists. The author of many articles and columns on mountain biking and a contributor to Oregon Cycling magazine, Alan also manages the office of his wife, Tamara, who has a chiropractic practice in Creswell.

Dave Story wrote, with the Lemans, Mountain Bike! Southern California. A former mountain bike race promoter, he now writes about biking and travel for a variety of publications. He also works as a writer in the television and film industry. Dave, who lives in Santa Monica, California, is currently authoring his second biking book: Cycling the NationalParks of California and the Northwest.Laurie, Chris, Alan and Dave will be GORP's special forum guests from January 25 throughFebruary 15, 1999.
