Every time they go out, cross-country skiers and snowshoers face a dilemma: stay warm, but not too warm. Too much insulating clothing, and you'll drench yourself in sweat. Too little, and you freeze. The solution, of course, is layering. SportHill offers the Endeavor Vest and XC Pant as two great garments to use as a second layer. The base layer, of course, should be a thin synthetic material that wicks sweat away from your skin, since moisture is deadly in cold conditions.

The Endeavor Vest works in tag-team fashion with the base layer to further"pull" sweat away from the skin. At the same time, the polypropylene/Lycra material insulates well and a membrane bonded inside the material creates a wind barrier that blocks out gusts as high as 30 mph. The vest is an ideal way to keep your body's core warm while letting your extremities breathe and release excess heat.

The XC Pant is made of the same material and features side pockets, 12-inch cuff zippers (to make taking the pants off and on easy), and a tapered leg that fits snugly but not overly tight. The pants are available in men's and women's sizes.

Price: $91.95 XC Pants, $79.95 Endeavor Vest
