GSI 'Granito' Drinkware
By Dan A. Nelson

GSI may not be a brand you instantly recognize, but this small Spokane, Washingtonbased company makes some of the best, most affordable camp accessories available anywhere. Among the best of its products is a rugged enamel-steel coffee set — eight-cup pot and four cups — in a new Granito style, so-called because the gray finish has the look and durability of granite. Car campers, hunters, and fishermen will appreciate the traditional styling of this gear.

If you prefer your beverage with a little more kick than the caffeine in coffee, GSI offers a stainless-steel flask covered in leather. The flask measures 7 inches tall and 2 inches in diameter and holds 10 ounces of unleaded or high-octane beverage. Inside the cap you'll find two 1-ounce shot glasses. For backpackers who cherish a little vino with their backcountry pasta, GSI offers Lexan wine glasses. Lexan is the nearly indestructible plastic used in many water bottles today. That tough material, combined with the fact that stems unscrew from the cup of these glasses — and then can be stored inside the cup — makes this stemware suitable for packing along into the backcountry. At just $5 a pop, they bring a touch of decadence into the wilds.

Price: $35 coffee set, $35 flask, $5 wine glasses
