Great Outdoor Towns
for Families

By Diane Bair and Pamela Wright

With endless miles of family-friendly trails, it's hard to go wrong in Jackson Hole

What do we look for in a great family town?
It's simple:

* Jaw-dropping scenery
* Enough year-round activities to keep you coming back for more
* Easy access to guides, services, and equipment
* An active, healthy atmosphere and a personality that sets it apart from the rest

That's our criteria for America's best outdoor towns for families. We know . . . you have your favorites, too. And, certainly there are plenty more locales in the country that pass muster. But these four towns (with attention to wide geographic representation) come readily to mind and, we're sure you'll agree, need no defending.
