Turner Falls remains one of those places that Dallas families return to year after year. It's an easy drive almost all on interstate highways and campsites and cabins are available, along with motels in nearby Davis.
Stream and waterfalls, Turner Falls State Park
The Arbuckle Mountains flow like a fountain with cool, spring-fed streams. Kids love to wade in the Travertine pools or explore the park's three caves. Older kids can swim in the deeper hole below Turner Falls at 77 feet, it is the region's largest.
With its tall limestone bluffs that shade the summer sun, folks come here just to take it easy. The most taxing chore of the weekend is keeping an eye on waterlogged youngsters.
