Utah Ski Roundup
Brighton Ski Bowl
By Ashley Patterson

Located in most any other region, Brighton would be considered a resort with an outstanding choice of advanced and expert terrain. However, with Solitude, Alta, and Snowbird as its neighbors, Brighton at times gets labeled as the beginner's resort. This is a fallacy, as expert trails can be found throughout the resort. As a result of its location at the top of Big Cottonwood Canyon, Brighton also gets some of the deepest powder in the western United States.
Because it has lots of natural terrain features and lots of powder, it is a favorite with local snowboarders, consistently ranking among the top resorts in the country.
Location: Brighton is only 30 minutes southeast of downtown Salt Lake City.
Season: Early November through late April.
