She was initially attracted to the idea because of the value she places on clean air, and news that the sister of a good friend of hers had been diagnosed with lung cancer. However, the more she thought about the scope and nature of the Big Ride, the more she realized that, while such the trip was very meaningful in its support of a good cause, the long, solo, inner journey was just as important.

A strong cyclist with powerful outdoor leanings, Lynn left the truck courier company for which she worked to do the Big Ride. She sees it as an incredible growth opportunity. She had already begun work with a partner to open Mountains to Sea, an outdoor outfitter that takes groups on mountain biking, fishing, and sea kayaking trips. The Big Ride, more than just an enormous personal challenge, will help her build her camping and cycling and group management skills.

Lynn hopes to come away from this ride even stronger than when she began it, and with a clearer understanding of her strengths and abilities.
