On the Slopes or Après: Lolë Vail Jacket

Kiss the days of puffy coats that make us women resemble astronauts goodbye—Lolë has the solution. The name of this women-specific apparel company stands for Live Out Loud Everyday, and as the Vail jacket proves, every day includes those on the slopes.

Like any ski jacket worth that designation, the Vail jacket is wonderfully warm and thoroughly waterproof. But it's the femme-inspired, fashionable details that really sets it apart from the pack.

Two attributes that jump out immediately include the adorable fake fur band around the edge of the removable hood (which feels wonderfully soft against your face, unlike the typical scratch of fake fur), and the curved cut on the front of the jacket. It zips straight up under the buttons, so you can choose to let the buttons hang open, giving the jacket a cool, casual feel, or button-up for the high-fashion look. The 100 percent poly outer fabric has been crafted to look like tweed to evoke a sophisticated appearance, and comes in a charcoal (gray) or chocolate (brown). Those first-glance details, as well as the jacket's stylish, streamlined cut, will inspire the first burst longing "oohs."

Rest assured, like the resort town from which the jacket derives its name, the Vail is more than just a pretty face. Six pockets (three inside, three out), a waterproof/breathable surface, a zip-out snow skirt, and hand gaiters (sleeves with thumb loops that can extend into your gloves) top a long list of tech features. It even comes with an interior mp3 pocket with a small access point in the seam through which a wire can travel to let you shift from the slope to the bar withouth missing a fashionable beat.
