Any good gear-head knows that our trusted jackets, boots, packs, skis, and everything else do more than just clog our closets. The best gear—the trusted stuff we always use and will never part with—has been with us during our scariest, most epic, and inspired moments. Patagonia understands this as well, and they’ve recently launched a way to help you share the stories that your gear would tell if it could talk. The new Worn Wear project allows you to document the best stories about your favorite pieces of apparel. Naturally they’re looking for stories about Patagonia products, but since they’ve been in the game for more than 40 years, that shouldn’t be too tough. They’ve already got a some great tales up on their site, including one from Patagonia-founder Yvon Chouinard, who tells how toilet seat covers led to the perfect fleece fabric, and another about a pair of board shorts that have served its owners for 15 years. Join the conversation.
