Elite athletes, by definition, use more gear than the rest of us mortals. And at the level at which they are climbing, biking, skiing, base jumping, flying in a wing suit, or any other extreme play, their gear can mean the difference between life and death. Athletes at this level have sponsors—otherwise they wouldn’t be able to spend the huge amount of time required to maintain top-level fitness and performance (not to mention all the required traveling). But, they never use gear that isn’t up to snuff. While athletes have a responsibility to their sponsors to sport logos, they also have the ability and expertise to pick the specific gear they use out of product line-ups that often include hundreds, if not thousands, of models. In short, if the stuff they love works for them, it’s gonna work for you.
