electronic games room, craft room, outdoor playground, and staffed kiddy play room with an adjoining family restaurant from which parents can eat while keeping an eye on their charges through a window.

First built in 1896, the 560-room beach resort occupies a stretch of posh Palm Beach. The resort's activities include golf on two courses, an elegant spa, tennis, croquet, scuba diving, and kayaking.

Why Families Love It:
Every weekend, The Breakers celebrates families, beginning Friday night with the Family Fun Pack—free music, refreshments, and either a beach bonfire or outdoor games. Saturday kicks off with Game Day for the whole family and ends with a themed party or game-room activities in Family Night Out, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., $60 per child depending upon activity. Parents can participate or take advantage of the program to score an evening to themselves.

The Coconut Crew Interactive Camp offers supervised activities for ages three to 12. Full day programs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. cost $100; morning and afternoon sessions cost $70. All programs include lunch.

For $15 per hour, the Family Entertainment Center also provides monitored free play for kids ages five through seven.

Special Activities & Events:
Holiday periods—Christmas/Hanukkah, President's Day, spring break, and others—bring a barrage of special activities including Winter Carnival, with bounce houses, rock walls, a giant slide, and a New Year's Eve Junior Fantasy Ball. Fees vary.
