GORP Travel Expert: Liza Prado
Biography
Liza Prado was working as a corporate attorney in San Francisco when she decided to take a leap of faith and try her hand at travel writing and photography instead. Five years later, she has co-authored eight guidebooks to destinations in Latin America and the Caribbean. Enjoying the ride all the while, she's dived, hiked, paddled, and crocodile-spotted her way through assignments. Her photographs have been featured in Lonely Planet and Moon Handbooks as well as The Away Network and other travel websites. A graduate of Brown University and Stanford Law School, Liza has traveled extensively throughout the Americas and Europe. She speaks Spanish fluently, Italian and French decently, and can order a catfish dinner in Portuguese. She currently lives in Oakland, CA, with her husband and frequent co-author Gary Chandler.
