Tent Camping Heaven
West Virginia has many pretty valleys bordered by high mountains. That describes much of the state. However, you just may agree with me that the valley of Meadow Creek, bordered by Meadow Creek Mountain on one side and the stateline range of the Alleghenies on the other, may be the Mountain State's prettiest valley. Meadow Creek was dammed in 1958, and Lake Sherwood was born. This capped off the scenery.
Lake Sherwood Recreation Area is very well kept, maintaining its attractiveness. The developments did nothing to spoil the natural allure; the developments are the means by which you can indulge in the area's resources. Swimming, fishing, hiking, and all-around relaxing are on the agenda when you find yourself at the terminus of Lake Sherwood Road.
