What do I really need? I don't care for technology and I miss camping and kayaking. Now that I have some time and a new kayak (standard 10ft single), and most of the camping supplies I'll need, where are some good places to start? What should I make sure I have? Advice?

My friends and I are planning a week-long backpacking trip in Smoky Mountain National Park in September 2012 and I wanted to know if anybody out there can recommend a 50 - 60 mile loop hike that would provide a backcountry campsite at the end of each day. If anybody out there can provide trail names and campsite information it would be very much appreciated! Thanks in advance.

We are going to a WWII reunion the beginning of September in San Antonio, TX. Looking for suggestions as to where we can camp with our 20' trailer. Last time we were in TX, I remember the state offered no discounts at all, AARP, AAA, etc. We have evernything including America the Beautiful Senior Pass. Looking for BLM, COE, NP, SP. I've sent for info, but it hasn't arrived yet. And to me, half the fun of traveling is the planning.
