I just purchased 33 Acres at Twin Lakes and plan on bldg a future homesite.I want to be able to hunt ,fish and ski near my property without having to pay the expensive hunt guides and other things.

Not trying to break my neck, just like to paddle, look at rocks, trees, and small animals. Rapids and portaging don't interest me much. Would rather avoid, Compound Fracture, Write yo'Mamma etc.

Heading out with a buddy for a week. Depending on water flow, we are planning to do the Black Box, Black Hole and an maybe another day long excursion. We have done Death Hollow in Escalante, Sundance into Dark Canyon, Bucksin and a bunch of technical and non technical trips. I am looking for something similar to Death Hollow or Dark Canyon. Non technical and a chance to get in the water. I don't have a boat but West Canyon looks great for a couple of days. This will be in the end of June. Thoughts? Suggestions??? THANKS

1/2 mile N of power plant I was stung about 30 times, but do not know what it was. Looked like a deer fly. Stingers were white and still stung after 1 week.

We will be in iceland from June 14-19 with two young teenage boys. Our plan is to rent a car and do the following:
Day 1- chill in Reykjavik during day, thermal pools, wander;leave kids with pizza at apartment and go pub crawl (Friday night)
Day 2- get 4x4 and drive to Landmannlaguar ,hike, bathe then drive towards vik for night
Day 3- explore south coast somewhere run Reykjavik
Day 4-celebrate National Day in Reykjavik somehow
Day 5- golden Circle
Day 6- blue lagoon and environs, afternoon flight.
Any advice?
Car rental suggestions?
Lava tubes to explore without hiring a tour company?
