Just returned from St. Joeseph St park, it is absolutely the best place to camp if you are looking for seclusion, hard to find in the gulf beaches.

Yes, many of Florida's state parks offer developed campgrounds where you can camp by the beach, if not technically on the sand. Some of the best include T. H. Stone Memorial St. Joseph Peninsula State Park near St. Joe on the Panhandle and Grayton Beach State Park near Destin. The east coast also has some good spots, especially down around the Keys. Be sure to book well in advance if you want to snag a spot at any of these sites -- they're popular, for good reason! If you really want to get off the beaten track, the Everglades has some amazing backcountry sites, including the spectacular and secluded Clubhouse Beach.
